Early on Friday morning, August 7 a woman from Mandan was killed in an accident on Interstate Highway 94.
According to North Dakota Highway Patrol the accident happened around 5 a.m. near Exit 161 when 31 year old Erin R. Seehafer was driving eastbound. She was going around a left hand curve, when for reasons unknown she lost control of the 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe she was driving and left the highway. She then crashed through a fence which separates the interstate from Bohn Armory, drove eastbound for hundreds of yards though the ground of the armory and smashed into a walking bridge made of concrete. The vehicle flipped, landed upside down and burst into flames.
Authorities say Seehafer was killed in the crash and it is not known whether she was wearing a seat belt.
Seehafer was working for Central Dakota Hospital Laundry, Bismarck.
